Description

Entirely hand stitched dress. Cylinder printed cotton, checkers with superimposed flowers, black, red, yellow(block). High waistline, set-in waistband, skirt pleated in front, gathered in back. Hem faced with brown PW cotton. Back opening with hooks and eyes, some missing. Front has wide shallow neckline with crosswise drapery and self frill across top. No bones. Piped seams. Wide gigot sleeves to wrist with placket and hook-loop fasteners. Ties in armscyes.There may have been a tuck around the hem. Bodice lined with white heavy cotton, skirt unlined.
