Description

Entirely hand-stitched dress made of black, white, lavender, pale yellow, and green plaid silk taffeta. Round waist. Boned darts. High round neckline. Front opening with tiny rimmed white glass buttons and buttonholes within 3” of neckline. Dropped piped armscyes with split jockeys. Slightly flaring sleeves to elbow ending in 7” slightly gathered bias ‘pagoda.’ Bottoms faced with violet silk gauze brocade ribbon. Straight skirt panels cartridge pleated onto waistband attached to piped bodice edge. Jockeys and sleeves edged with violet silk fringe. Violet silk medallion and triple tassels trim jockeys. Pocket in right side of skirt. Skirt edge ends out with dark brown velvet ribbon; properly finished with wool braid. Wide back.
