Description

Entirely hand stitched cotton dress. Red, buff, pink, white seaweedy wavy stripe. Apron front skirt, CF opening bodice with separate lining layer pinned shut underneath. Skirt back attached crudely to rayon (?-MID) tape and then to outside bodice. Wide curved neckline; long, slightly bulging sleeves with cuffs and mancherons; all trimmed with self, piped bias band. Frill with corded edge at skirt hem. Skirt unlined; bodice lined with plain weave white cotton. Sleeves partially lined with same. No evidence of CF closure, perhaps pinned. Long recent shoestring run as drawstring through recent (?) casing formed in neckline band.
