Entirely hand stitched grey silk crepe with a lavender tinge suggesting that it is a faded logwood hue. Resembles Chinese crepe shawl fabric, 17” width, maybe “Canton crepe.” (too narrow a width according to Ning) Fairly high waistline pieced above the waist, medium wide scooped neckline, self bound. Long baggy sleeves fitted over the top of the hand with more fullness at tops. Skirt gathered all around with greater fullness in back; attached directly onto bodice, which is lined with plain weave heavy white cotton as are the sleeves. Back opening with steel hooks and eyes. Piped armscyes and side back seams. Tucks around hem area. No ornamentation.
