Entirely hand stitched white cotton. Top is slightly different fabric from skirt; apparently the 10-year-old skirt was recycled onto a more fashionable bodice. Wide, open neckline; slightly puffed, rather loose, long sleeves to the knuckles. Piped wide “low” neck and sleeve ends. Skirt smooth, attached to semi-high waisted fitted bodice with topstitching. Full in back, back opening with flat braid drawstring in waist, found threaded through twice [?]; black hook and eye at neckline, may not be original. Front skirt has 4” wide stripe of white cotton embroidery down center, band of similar motif around hem- intertwined scroll and flowers- satin stitch and French knots, mostly. Bodice partly lined, skirt unlinedCollection
