Description

Entirely hand stitched celadon green-grey silk taffeta. Much pieced. Classic construction: center back cut in one piece from neck to hem. Skirt attached with narrow, even pleats all around. Pocket slits sewn shut. Curved hem let down further in front. Front edges of skirt edged with fine cream silk band; hem faced with similar silk to depth of about 9.” Tight sleeves to just past elbow, bound with same silk. Bodice opening has slight shaping, comes to blunt point; 1” overlap, silk tape in casing along top front edge, in lining which is heavy glazed white linen. Ties and loops on either side inside skirt, for looping it up.
