Machine-stitched bodice from a 2-piece dress (skirt was not accessioned due to condition). Bodice is made of heavy dark brown cotton / mohair warp and bright orange mohair weft (microscope ID). It is heavy and stiff. Front opening. Drop shoulders. Slim coat sleeves. Curved yoke effect created with double row of black velvet ribbon above a row of deep, black silk fringe. Carried to armscye in back. Similar treatment of cuffs. Large goldstone and black glass conical buttons. Interlined with brown glazed cotton.Collection
