Description

Girl’s dress, entirely hand stitched, made of fine madras, Indian or not, with fine red, blue and green crossed pinstripes. High waist; wide, shallow scoop neck; wide, full sleeves cut off to elbow. Set-in waistband, skirt smooth across front, gored side section, fullness in back. Two tucks above hem. CB opening secured with homemade thread-covered bone button and loop at neck, brass hooks and eyes at waist. Bodice front set on bias and gathered slightly into waistband; lined with heavy white cotton, left free in back and secured with 4 pearl 4-hole buttons.
