Description

Man’s top hat made of thin gray fur felt. About 7.25” high with a thin, flat 3” brim with the sides very dramatically upcurved. Tan grosgrain hatband, .75” wide, with folded ends at one side; matching ribbon binding almost entirely worn away. Inside is a tan leather sweatband with fine silk braid drawstring; thin, coarse buckram above that, and the remains of a thin, embossed silk top lining, revealing a cardboard liner. From the front, the crown is slightly wider at the top. The bottom is oval, the top round.
