Description

Partly machine-stitched dress made of fine silk warp-printed with horizontal floral bands in shades of gray, ivory, green, blue and pink. Long golden tan silk fringe and gray / multi silk decorative braid. Bodice (a) - wide, deep neckline. Jockeys above full length bell sleeves with short slit up the outside. Front hook closure Deep points front and back. Cream colored lining cambric in body; cream silk in sleeves. Box pleated pinked double frill inside each sleeve hem. Side back faux seams. Boned. Bust pads. Center back is laced with grey silk cord. Fringe and braid on hems. Braid on neckline and jockey. Skirt (b) - attached to narrow self waistband in narrow pleats. Waistband faced with lining cambric. Hook and eye closure. Pocket in right seam. Lined with brown lining cambric and narrow hem edged with faded pink wool braid. Pelerine (c) - cut square across bottom and closed with hooks in back so it transforms the dress into a yoked day dress. Hem trimmed with fringe and braid. White lining cambric. Back edge faced with olive silk ribbon. Ribbon loops attached at corners speculated to receive a ribbon tie to secure the pelerine.
