Description

Dress made of substantial white cotton, entirely hand stitched. High waisted. Low, straight neckline with drawstring. Shoulder ‘straps’ and large puffed sleeves with drawstring in hem, set a little back onto shoulder blade. PW linen tape drawstring in back. Coarse white linen lining in sides, floating in back; band serves as a stay under bust. Skirt with side gores, smooth over front and gathered in back by long, crossed self-ties. Very slight train. 3 narrow tucks above the hem which is decorated with a double self-frill made with folds for the hem. (A tube stitched down its center to make the frill spread apart although it could flop over to make the 2-layered version).
