Description

Infant’s long dress, entirely hand stitched fine white cotton. Smooth front skirt, gored at sides with very shallow, wide bodice. Very narrow linen PW tape drawstrings in waist casing in back form gathers in skirt. Casing, etc., in back neckline. Very narrow shoulder ‘strap.’ Short sleeves held in puffs by 3 vertical rows of Ayreshire insertion. Same insertion forms horizontal bands in F bodice between rows of extremely narrow tucks. 2 similar bands at hems; bodice, hem and sleeves edged with similar Ayreshire. Astounding quality of stitching.
