Description

Entirely hand-stitched infant’s cooler made of fine white cotton. Smooth front with no waistline; gored sides. The casing forms a high waist in the back. Wide shallow scooped neckline with narrow hem forming casing in back. Fine PW linen tape drawstrings. Short raglan sleeves edged with tiny rikrak made of tape. 5” hem with a double row of rikrak insertion, edged with a .5” band of fabric. Triple row of insertion down sleeve top, between rows of extremely fine pin tucks. 18” center front neck hem to bottom edge. Attached note: “Made for our grandmother Emily Hannah Badger Smith-- by her Aunt Lydia Buck in Bucksport, Maine-- Grandmother was born in Jan, 1st 1806. —Emily Smith Clymer. November 8th 1900- Reading Pa.” Same as G95.013.
