Description

Entirely hand-stitched child's dress made of white cotton. Vertical pleats in bodice; spaces between are filled with brownish black silk embroidered vines with diamonds. Wide, shallow scooped bound neckline and tape drawstring. Piped armscyes. Straight short sleeves with half-inch faced hems. Back opening has hooks and loops. Skirt has 4” faced hem. Two shallow tucked rows. Stroke-gathered onto standard lined waistband around midpoint to form casing for plain weave cotton drawstring through upper half. Skirt's hem is embroidered with wide zigzag border related to bodice motif, with scrolled brown and white braid running through the center. Sleeves have modified borders. Sleeves and neck is edged with a wide white cotton machine-laced lace.
