Description

Girl’s dress made of pale celadon green Liberty silk, entirely hand stitched with silk thread. Smocked yoke and cuffs, embroidered pointed turned down collar and shoulder sections. Self covered buttons, 2 decorative ones in center front of collar. Pocket in right side. Lined completely with thin plain white cotton. Maybe it should have a matching sash like the gold Langdon dress; however the green one does not have one... This is important as an example of a wealthy child’s “greenery yallery” reform dress, the young Ida Langdon being a good example of such. She had more than one as evidenced in her portraits.
