Description

Entirely hand-stitched child’s dress, possibly a boy’s dress made of pale peach colored plain woven wool block printed with tossed squared meander motifs mingled with tiny squares in black, purple, magenta, brown and green. Knee length unlined skirt attached to piped inset waistband with reversed, double box pleats. Deep tuck above hem bordered with 3 rows of black soutache braid. Full bodice pleated into waistband and wide straight neckline piped with black. Short flaring raglan sleeves pleated into neckline and the fullness restrained halfway down by a row of black soutache, which also trims the edge of the sleeve. Full lining in bodice and upper sleeve of glazed white cotton. Closes in back with tiny flat black glass buttons on shanks.
