Description

Tightly & unevenly spun Z2S silk on looser spun Z singles natural (?) tan silk plain weave ground, M.I.D (and clorox-tested as well). The colors include a healthy indigo blue (probably) with faded dyewood pinks, tans and yellows (probably); the dyes are not even and did not penetrate the entire thread. Cross stitch, unevenly controlled. Large UC, small UC, LC, large script alphabets; numerals, various dividing lines. Lower area has federal house with clinging vine, fence with gates, bowl of flowers and floating birds on twigs on either side. “Mary Swan” and “Mary J Swans samplar age 11.” Geometric strawberry border, 4 sides. 1/4” hem on all 4 sides. Approximately 13.5” wide x 16” high. Seems it might be an entirely home-made production from worm to wall.
