Description

Fan made of ivory (?) with silver foil accents; guard sticks of mother of pearl riveted to the ivory, with silver foil accents and what might have been a gold paint; no loop. Pearl stud. Leaves are white feathers with gilt and red painted flowers and vines. A white silk ribbon has been stuck amidst the sticks, probably for dress-up or even the Golden Anniversary celebration. Box, bright green with a yellow bottom. Inscribed with notes inside the lid and on the bottom. Has Stock number: No 1220 and other notations. Part of Anna Hopkin Dyer’s wedding attire.
