Description

Entirely machine-stitched shirtwaist made of open-weave cotton with a plaid of black stripes and polka dot print. Machined-bobbin lace inserts vertically flanking the center front opening; two rows and at wrists. One strip has attached machined bobbin lace of woven squares attached to form wrist cuffs. Bodice front and back have vertical pleats flanking the center front opening. Back is pleated, matching front pleats which continue to the center back. Waist tape is external, and may be tied in front and hidden by skirt waistband. Small stand collar. Sleeves are also pleated with small vertical pleats from shoulder, extending to just below elbow. Sleeves are 3/4 in length and have a fullness below elbow on the "outside" of the sleeves. Button hole placket is hidden on left side of the center front opening, but the buttons have been removed.
