Description

Entirely machine-stitched, with some internal hand-finishings house dress made of heavy blue and white / light blue stripe cotton fabric, almost like a jean. Both bodice and skirt are unlined. Heavily pleated in waist / hips and bodice to fit to wearer. Bodice (a) - features 3/4 length sleeves. Set into armscyes with terminating just below the elbow in pleats as well, set by a bound edge of light blue tightly woven cotton fabric. Internal waist-tape that ties in front. The center back is pleated down into a V, forming short peplum at the center back. Pleating from shoulder to above bust to form a ‘yoke’ of sorts, all the pleats openings are below to form a mono-bosom or pigeon breast front. High round neckline with center front closure made of handmade eyes with missing hooks. Skirt (b) - heavily pleated across waist and hips to fit wearer. Waistband is made of self fabric with a center back closure made of hooks and eyes, still present. Hem is about five inches deep. Pleating comes to a small point at the center front of skirt; makes a flare. No train but plenty of volume for a trumpet effect.
