Entirely hand-stitched infant dress. The skirt is made from a printer handkerchief with a wavy vine border cut to shape and finished with blanket stitch, and polka-dot fields. Seems to have been a pink ground originally. The skirt is opened up through the back; gathered onto the base of a plain cotton bodice with a straight neckline and short raglan sleeves edged with some of the handkerchief border. Double drawstring in the waist and another around the whole neckline. This appears to have been reworked from a smaller, probably waistless dress.Collection
