Description

Hand-knitted girl's single short mitt made of peach silk. Deep cuff with openwork diamond pattern; trimmed with hand woven ivory silk fringe; long shaped thumb, and flap lined with early silk lampas; silver on peach ground (speculated to be mid 18th century). Edges reinforced with ivory silk stitched border. Broad long points with diamond tops, and up the entire outside with one around the thumb seam; all embroidered in ivory silk.
