Description

Lady's dinner cap made of spotted black cotton net mounted on a wide sturdy band for a base, with a seperate floating panel, edged with black lace and shaped with points at the side top and bottom and decorated with 3 rows of narrow violet ribbon borders. The base is covered with a wider, shirred darker blue-violet ribbon also used to form a looped bow with streamers at the center front where the crown rises to form a peak accented with more shirred ribbon. The purple suggests half-mourning wear.
