Description

3-piece girl's dress made of fine peach-colored 'cashmere' partly machine stitched. Trimmed with 3 rows of narrow cerulean blue velvet ribbon on all hems. Basque with princess seaming has longer pointed 'tails' in back; turquoise velvet colored dome buttons close the back. Long pagoda sleeves with machine lace edging tacked to the inside of the sleeve hem; a narrow lace frill at the high neck. Piped armscyes. 2-lobed apron overskirt (a) - high at the sides; plain cotton waistband is basted onto the similar skirt waistband. Shin-length skirt is full, more so in the back, closes with a large brass hook. Basque (b) - lined with plain white or cream cotton. Skirt (c) - lined with coarser, thin sized natural cotton lining. Bodice was made with fabric from slightly different dye lots.
