Description

Hand and machine-stitched two piece dress made of black alpaca/silk warp (microscope identified). Well-made; simple, minimally stylish. Basque (a) - hip length; even all around; front opening; simple neck with standing collar. Long straight sleeves with simple kilted flounce at hem. Black glass buttons with some sparkle, metal black plate and loop. Lined with tan cotton, inner front waistband secures with hook and eyes. Areas in front of shoulder and back of neck have padding to smooth out the fit. Skirt (b) - narrow; column of slight shirring at center front and each side. Bustled back has seperate layer arranged in many puffs. No interior ties. 14" kilted founce around bottom. Suitable for second mourning or general 'walking' about.
