Description

Tea gown made of heavy turquoise velour. The close-fitted bodice is made to suggest a colonial open robe, with a pleated ivory surah panel in the center, beneath the laces. Black satin ribbon is present but the original lace was probably a matching silk cord. The Watteau back has a very long pleated train. Square neckline edged with machine-made ecru lace. Close-fitting elbow-length sleeves with "engagements" of what appears to be handmade ecru silk lace.
