Description

Waistcoat made of heavily lattice-textured black silk and wool with occasional fine red wefts and green flecks. Double-breasted with 4 angled welt pockets. No collar, slightly angled. Slightly pointed waist. Lined with simple white cotton cambric. Backing is speculated to be a silk / cotton blend, golden brown with faint red stripes. Back straps with old black lacquered buckle. 8 buttons with slotted backs which appear to be made of papier-mâché although they feel like a ceramic material. Molded with red and green sections and then painted black.
