Lady's cotton chemise - long in length. Body has shaped panels - cut, shaped, but also shaped further with darts along the mid section of the body. Short sleeves that button by three milk glass buttons across the shoulder. Wide neckline, and CB closure of same milk glass buttons.
Flounce across hem - approx. 1' deep with three tucks. Three more tucks up body of chemise, above the applies flounce. Seam of flounce is covered in machine-embroidered cotton tape. Short sleeves and neckline finished with sleeve and neck bands, piping in between layers, and flounce gathered and attached to banding. Picot edging finished all flounces - neckline, sleeves, hem.
Chest of chemise has a rounded edge panel that is fille din with tiny tucks, panels of picoting faggoted together, edged with piping, and then a flounce with more picoting on the edges. Sleeves have similar panels applied to front of sleeves and back.
Some hand-finishing on inside, by almost entirely machine-stitched. There is a line of stitching that has been removed above the hem flounce - most likely a fourth tuck.Collection
