Description

Entirely hand stitched, dark blue lustring, apparently same as dress 2002.134. Deep brim faced with blue plaid silk, front edge turned back about 1” and stitched down. If interlined, it is very thin stuff; it is gathered at base in back. No quilting except at front edge. Horseshoe crown, piped seam, has gathers at top giving a little height there. Lined with very faded machine printed calico that appears to date about 1835-40. Short bavolet wadded with wool and lined with plaid. Short self ties.
