Description

Leghorn straw bonnet edged with darker, fine straw cord-effect braid. Form flares around face, sits back on head. Trimmed with wide blue silk ribbon brocaded with white flowers, forming large bows with streamers on either side. Brim is faced with ivory silk, rimmed inside with frills of blonde lace mingled with small pink artificial flowers and wild roses. Buckram bavolet partially covered with ribbon and edged with darker straw braid. Lined with loose buckram. No labels or marks. Dark blue narrow silk ribbon functional ties stitched atop the red, blue and cream plaid silk ribbon show ties that are short, and appear to be add ons although they may be period ribbon.
