Description

Gentleman's starw boater of pleated and folded straw. Shape is relatively oval and not circular. Brim has four layers of straw. Outside of straw hat is a ribbon of mix silk and wool. Silk warp with wool weft ribbon, approx. 2.5" wide, with triple strip[e in middle of center gold/orange line, with two small white lines flanking it. Rest of ribbon is brown. Ribbon sewn into bow on left side of hat. Inside of hat has leather sweatband, hand-sewn to brim. Cotton tarlatan wrapped around inside of crown. Top of hat has paper lining made to look like fiugred/damask silk. Stamp in middle, but lacks brand name. Size is "7" on a tag.
