One piece mourning dress of black. Center front opening on bodice, concealed hook closure, decorative faille covered buttons, high round neckline. Sloping off-the-shoulder long sleeves edged at wrist with satin bands and finished with lace frill (added afterwards). Simple full floor length skirt to be worn with hoop and pleated into waist band in front, cartridge pleated in back. Skirt opens at proper right front. Hem finished with wool braid turned up about an inch or two at later date. Modern snaps added later. May be mourning dress but may just be a black dressContext
