Cloak of pale yellow wool - fine cashmere. The cloak has Cf closure of hook and eye, with a silk braided tie. The silk braided tie is dyed a pale salmon, and silk braided tape that binds all the edges of the cloak, and hook, also in a pale salmon colorway. The braided ties have mohair tassels on the end, with salmon pink tassels hanging.
Inside is lined with a pale yellow China silk or very fine silk taffeta. Interfacing and quilted by hand stitching. The hood of the cloak is rather shallow - may be for a child or a "show" hood. On the hood are two tassels - one at the crown and one rather forward near the "forehead" of the hood - this would hang in the face of the wearer, supporting the idea that this was a presentational hood rather than a hood for use.
Could have been worn by a relatively small adult or a young lady.Collection
