One brown plaid child's dress and matching piece of fabric. The fabric has hints of white, dark brown, light brown, blue, and red. The dress has no collar, long sleeves with a ruched cuff, button front, and ruffled hem. The lining is a pink and white print with rows of roses and lines with rectangles. There is both hand and machine sewing, with handmade buttonholes. The matching piece of fabric is hemmed on all sides and may have been a sash or perhaps was going to be added to the dress as an additional ruffle.
A note tucked in with the dress says that it belonged to Eleanor Thornton Milton at age two, but that she died by three.Collection
