Description

One white, starched cotton petticoat with a tie waistband that is marked in ink: "Mrs. J.R. Mitchell." Nearly the entire skirt has tucked layers, with a wide hem and a stiff edge of handmade lace. The entire skirt material was tucked at one time, and the tucks on the hem and at the top of the skirt were let out. This garment was hand sewn with very fine sewing skills.
