2022.35.0346Description
Stamped GERMANY on reverse. First wears light green striped dress with a short open robe with only the equivalent of bretelles with short bell sleeves on the top. Either the cloth is with edging all over of embroidered white muslin or lace. Next lady wears a pink dress crossed with deep blue stripes. Dress has long tight sleeves on the bias, with linear black ornamentation that seems to be solid in places, defining the V of the bodice, the elbow, and the hem. The next is seated, wearing pale blue with a tiered skirt, short mancheron sleeves, and deep V opening in the bodice, spanned by lacing, the whole covering a chemisette and long lingerie sleeves with bell ends. Next displays a black net mantle shaped to the arms, extending low in back with 3 tiers of deep frill, with a long extension down the front of the pink dress which has a tiered skirt edged with matching fringe. The man is presented in a dark blue frock coat wide open to a sleek and simple white waistcoat with as small standing collar and no lapels, long, over white pantaloons. Drawings of apron, bonnets, caps.Collection
