The White family operated the White Pottery or Central New York Pottery, as it would be known as in the1870s, beginning with Noah White in 1838. Through multiple generations, the company name shifted from N. White and Sons (1849) to Noah White, Sons, and Company (1863), and finally ending on C.N. White Clay Products Company (1910). The company saw approximately ten name changes throughout the years.
The mark "WHITES UTICA" was used most commonly between the 1860s and 1870s on jugs but was more specifically used between 1863 and 1865 when the company was named Noah White, Son & Co.Collection
