"Top hat, beaver fur (MID)* 7” high with flat 2” brim, edge slightly turned up and finished with hand stitched narrow grosgrain ribbon; narrow figured ribbon hat band. Inside has deep sweat band, stiffened coarse netting and an embossed tan cloth liner in top - no labels. Strips of Syracuse, NY newspaper inside which bear date of 1856. *Could be rabbit."
