Hood, long scalloped cape 1860-1875 Machine stitched hood of quilted black silk satin. Hand overcast seams and hand hemmed. Close-fitted hood, set back from face; flaring, long cape all around with scalloped edges, cut in one piece with respective upper sections. Front edge trimmed with 3” wide black satin ribbon laid on in wide quilling or pleats. Black grosgrain ribbon bow in center back of neck. Light layer of batting. Self faced; brown glazed cotton lining. Narrow black grosgrain ties.Collection
