Fine semi sheer linen square with rib borders of heavier threads. Extremely fine hems on 2 sides. SI stitched in gold silk, microscopically small, in 1 corner. Starched. Edged with 3/8” lace-- machine made. It would seem the kerchief is earlier than the lace which is perhaps c 1850.Collection
