Description

Two piece dress, changeable apricot silk with apricot wool. CF closure of lacing. Inner bel ttape, with label stamped on in golden lettering. "M. L. Blank Modes 158 & 13th St. N.Y." Skirt taffeta is shredded in sections. Inner CB pillow filled with horsehair. Large hooks and eyes in CB closure. Train. Soiled, pleated balayeuse of cotton (?) tarlatan. Purchased by Katherine Winter Gilbert (1860 - 1956) in Paris during a trip to Europe in 1883, when she was 22 years of age (Provenance from donor). Yet NY label?
