One framed photograph of Elisha Johnson, mayor of Rochester, NY in 1838. His expression is very stern and he is wearing a dark suit with vest, with hair lines drawn in over his white hair. He appears to be seated and the photograph shows only the top half of his body.
The bottom of the photograph is marked: "PHOTOGRAPHED BY J. H. KENT ROCHESTER N. Y. / 58 State Street".
The back of the photograph has the following pen inscription: "Mayor Elisha Johnson of Rochester / N.Y. / Eleanor I. Fellows".
The oval black and white photo (2003.045.1.1) is mounted in an oval wooden frame (2003.045.1.2) that is painted gold and has moldings of acorns and oak leaves. The frame measures 14.5 in. long x 12.438 in. wide x 1.75 in. deep. An oval mat separates the photograph from the glass.Collection
