2004.127 capelet, carrimackross, double layer 1838-1845 "Large pointed pelerine or capelet made of (now) cream colored Carrimackross, probably machine tamboured. The hem is gently scalloped and ornamented with a narrow floral vine border; above it, layered over the blank area is a separate, shorter matching bordered strip that parts at the sides. In the back, this effect is continued but the bottom is rounded rather than pointed like the front. There is a small round collar with similar trim. The body of the capelet has similar bordering above the hem borders, and a scattering of sprigs in the field. No fasteners." LINGERIE ADULT F MA Excellent A bit yellowed but otherwise excellent. laundered From Peg Prisco’s family, origins in Massachusetts.
