Lady's day dress made of fine cotton muslin. The pattern on the muslin consists of a woven horizontal stripe and printed purple and yellow peacock crest amongst a field of small grey polka dots or simply, dots. The bodice waist is at the natural waist or a bit higher. Yolk area over the shoulder of the bodice with horizontal tucks, with the sloping shoulder line. Curved sleeves of two pieces, with machined lace tape sewn into the outer seam. The same machined lace tape is present on the yolk as well. The bodice has a center front closure with Dorset buttons which are hidden hooks and eyes on the inner cotton lining, and snaps sewn in at a later date. The skirt is deeply gauged all the way around the dress, with gauging denser at the center back. The skirt is cut from rectangular pieces and has a slight train in the center back. Horizontal tucks across the hem as well.Collection
