Description

Lady's 3-piece wedding ensemble. Bodice (a) - made of pale cream duchess satin. Large sleeves with volume toward the top - leg-o-mutton. The bodice front is pleated vertically with the center front opening of hooks and eyes - hooks are covered in floss. The bodice is lined with pale chine silk and boned all across the abdomen. Sleeves are lined with cotton glazed, with wrist closure of 2 hooks and eyes. All internal seams are finished nicely and neatly. The outer waist of the bodice has satin silk horizontal bands. Waist tape inside has hooks that link the eyes on the waistband. Skirt (b) - very heavily stiffened. Shaped or gored panels allow the skirt to sit smoothly against the hips at the center front and sides. The center back is deep pleated with a train extended beyond the bottom of the skirt. Hook and eye closure at the waist, with eyes on the waistband that attach to the bodice. The skirt hem is turned over deeply and edged with cotton tarlatan. Over this is a pleated single-faced satin ribbon wide, with machined lace netting tape with a tulip design pleated in a strip above the ribbon. The hem is interfaced about 8 inches deep. The skirt itself is lined with fine cotton lawn, with several layers of cotton duck or canvas between lawn and satin. The center back skirt / train is further stiffened with panel of cotton tarlatan, trimmed with the same machined lace netting. Internal ties all down back train section to either gather and restrain train, or allow it to splay open and "flow." Overlap (c) - single layer of silk damask of satin and pattern of lilies and orange blossom. The bottom hem is faced with China silk, with three covered led weights in a round shape at the bottom. Three hooks and eyes on one side of the panel. Wedding veil in original box, and wedding pins - see: 2024.07.011a-b 2024.07.012a-b 2024.07.013a-b
