Wedding bodice made from pale creme wool, in a twill weave. Tailored by shaped panels and darts. CF closure of fabric covered round buttons. CF pleated panel with faux lapels, tails, and cuffs on sleeves made form dark tan twill cotton, brushed. Cuffs, and lapels and tails machine-embroidered with sprigs in pale colorway. High round neckline with stand collar. Collar and sleeves filled in with machine embroidered netting. Lined with brown glazed cotton twill. NO stays. Inner hook and eye waist panel. Long tight sleeves, 3/4 length, cut with curve at elbow, 2-pieces. Machine-sewn with hand finishing.
Some staining, and holes in wool in parts. Missing skirt.
Came with hand-written note that reads:
"Wedding dress waist worn with matching skirt by Jennie Kate (Kittie) Hoffman at her marriage to Nathtanial Hucke III June 4, 1885. Also wedding stockings."Collection
