A glass plate negative of a rural scene of a plowman working in the fields being served a drink by a small child. The scene shows a plowed field from behind a large wooden rake drawn by two horses in harness with hames. The brake is set on the rake, and the farmer is holding the horses' reins and drinking from a large tin canister. He wears a plowman's cap, shirt with high buttoned vest with a loose back belt, and loose fitting pants with pannier pockets. He is served by a small girl below his waist height. She is looking up to him, and wearing a peaked hat that may be of fur. Her coat or dress has a bertha collar and full long sleeves, and is dotted. She wears pantelettes, long stockings and high laced shoes.Photograph Details
