A photograph of a Civil War officer with side parted hair, full beard and mustache. The image of the soldier is in an oval vignetted shape and carries a stamped phrase below the oval on the card to which the photo is attached stating "GEN. LEW. WALLACE". The back of the photo is handwritten in ink with the following phrase "Lew Wallace. 4/10/1827. 2/15/1905". The picture is stamped on the other end of the back with the phrase "WOODWARD & RUNDEL, Dealership PICTURE FRAMES, Engravings, Albums, ----------. 126 State St., Rochester, N. Y."
