Beaded reticule, U-shaped. 6” long.; both sides identical. Lined with deep red silk faille that extends two inches above the bag; faded pink [rayon??] ribbon drawstrings form bows at the ends. No fringe at bottom. The lining seems likely to date to 1875-1900. Beads appear to be sewn to cloth ground. The upper border is dark red, saw tooth, with colorful leafy vine. The main panel has an opalescent ground with one each of a yellow, red and blue flower, narrow leaves. The lower section is also dark red, saw tooth, with a shepherdess wearing a blue dress and a wide brim straw hat, leading a sheep with ribbons, next to an impossible rose bushCollection
