One sampler worked in wool by Emily Sargent. The linen backing has an open weave and is a natural white color. The sampler is worked in a deep raspberry red, mustard yellow, light blue, dark blue, pink, ivory, and a light brown. The edge is bordered in a vine with raspberry colored flowers. The alphabet is stitched three times, in plain capital letters, plain lower case letters, and fancy capital letters. The numbers 1-10 are sewn once. Other images are a heart, a large basket of flowers, and two birds. The date "1881" and "Emily Sargent aged 13" are also sewn.Collection
